Welcome to The Metric System, a blog by RJMetrics. RJMetrics develops software to help online businesses measure, manage, and monetize better. We do this by empowering companies to harness the power of their data.

The main authors of this blog are the cofounders of RJMetrics, Bob Moore and Jake Stein. As we continue to grow, we hope to bring you content from our friends, colleagues and other guest contributors.

We are starting this blog for several reasons. Our main goal is to explore the interesting, data-driven world in which we live. We want to highlight examples of companies using innovative techniques to collect and analyze data, and the interesting ways they put the results to use. We also want to discuss noteworthy uses of data beyond the world of business. We are, unashamedly, tremendous nerds here at RJMetrics. This is the stuff that we talk about everyday, and we hope to extend that dialogue to this blog.

This blog will also serve as our own personal news channel. We’ll use it to announce company-related updates and showcase the many uses of RJMetrics products.

Finally, we want to emphasize that this blog isn’t a one-way street. We really appreciate comments and will do our best to respond to any that are left here. If you think something we’ve written is totally dumb/awesome/confusing/boring, don’t hesitate to tell us why.
